Savina Tarsitano’s artistic research is centred on the concept of “landing”, and develops though stays in themed destinations, like islands, abbeys, castles, military fortresses all around the world. During her travels, she came up with the idea of transforming books into jewellery, offering a new home to those abandoned, found in streets, thrown away, turning them into design objects. Specifically, the Book Collection presented here recalls the big north, Finland, orphan novels in Swedish, adopted among stones and silver. The pieces are hand-made, cut and sewn to create new narratives and imaginary forms.
